Collective bargaining negotiations for the fifth term have been completed at the Artesa Fabric plant, where our union is organized.
In the new collective bargaining negotiations, which started on November 10, 2021, some items related to financial matters were the cause of dispute, and an agreement could not be reached in the official mediation process.
After the parties updated their mutual proposals for the last time, our workplace representatives negotiated with our members and determined their final decisions on the dispute issues.
The parties came together on February 11, 2022 and reached a consensus on financial issues as a result of the evaluations made in line with the suggestions from the workplaces.
Final corrections were made on the text of the collective agreement, taking into account the previously signed minutes. The prepared collective agreement text was signed with a simple ceremony held on Tuesday, 15.02.2022. On behalf of our union, President Kazım Doğan, workplace union chief representative Durmuş Karaca, workplace union representatives Cemil Duran and Barış Açık, on behalf of Artesa Hande Şansal Dinç, Gökhan Kaya and Meliha Çelik attended the ceremony.
Our members’ purchasing power was preserved in the face of inflation.
In order to support the purchasing power of our members in the face of rapidly rising inflation at the end of 2021, an extra-contractual wage increase was provided at the Artesa Fabric plant as of October 2021.
Considering this increase, the salaries of our members have been significantly increased starting from January 2022. In the second and third years of the contract, it was decided to increase the wages above the minimum wage increase rate.
Bonuses, family allowances and food aids applied in the workplace were also increased at a level that would meet the expectations.
Added two new benefits
In the new period, two new social benefits were added to the contract.
- For each year of seniority worked, members were given a seniority increase.
- In addition, under the title of educational aid, a certain amount of aid was given for each child of the members who continue their high school education. Under this heading, a scholarship was provided by the Aster Education and Social Assistance Foundation every month during the education period for the children of the members who continue their higher education.
In this way, the monthly income of the members was increased to a level that would not be affected by the cost of living.
ILO 190 took its place in the Artesa Fabric contract
190 of the International Labor Organization, which we have started to make a common provision in our collective agreements in 2022 and the following period, took its place in the Artesa Fabric business contract.
As Aster Fabric and Textile Workers’ Union, with a new article added to the contract, an important step has been taken to implement the Convention on the Elimination of Violence and Harassment at Work No. 190.
The parties to the contract have completed a difficult test with mutual understanding. Our General Board of Directors, in its evaluation on the subject; He stated that they wish our 5th term collective bargaining agreement at Artesa Fabrics to be beneficial for everyone, and that they thank all our members for their support and trust during this difficult process.
