Seasonally adjusted narrow-defined unemployment rate was 8.8 % and seasonally adjusted broad-defined unemployment rate (idle labour force) was 27.6 %. According to TurkStat, the number of narrow-defined unemployed people aged 15 and over in Turkey (seasonally adjusted) was 3 million 175 thousand in October 2024.<\/p>\n<p>According to the calculation made by DISK-AR based on TURKSTAT data, the number of seasonally adjusted broad-defined unemployed was 11.245 million people in October 2024. The gap between narrow and broad unemployment continues to widen in October 2022, 2023 and 2024. In October 2022, the narrow-defined unemployment rate was 10.3 % and the number of official unemployed was 3.561 million, while the broad-defined unemployment rate was 20.4 % and the number of broad-defined unemployed was 7.658 million.<\/p>\n<p>In October 2023, narrow-defined unemployment rate was 8.5 % and the number of official unemployed was 2 million 975 thousand, while broad-defined unemployment rate was 21.3 % and the number of broad-defined unemployed was 8.151 million. In October 2024, narrow-defined unemployment rate was 8.8 % and the number of official unemployed was 3.175 million, while broad-defined unemployment rate was 27.6 % and the number of broad-defined unemployed was 11.245 million.
