A delegation from the Hunan Province Trade Unions Federation of the People’s Republic of China visited our union’s headquarters on May 11, 2026.
The delegation, headed by Federation Vice President Luo Qiong, included Yongzhou City Trade Unions Federation Vice President Yue Jiamao, Huaihua City Trade Unions Federation Vice President Zhou Yan, Hunan Education Union Vice President Zhu Guanxing, Hunan Trade Unions Federation Career Development Manager Tang Chengchao, and Hunan Trade Unions Federation Organization Department Manager Huang Siqing.
The delegation was hosted by our General President Kazım Doğan, Vice General President Cihangir Şahan, Merter Branch President Asalettin Arslanoğlu, Lüleburgaz Representative Savaş Testici, and Project Coordinator Kıvanç Eliaçık.
During the visit, a presentation by our Deputy Secretary General Ergün İşeri addressed Turkey’s employment structure, the size of workplaces in our sector and the distribution of workers according to sub-sectors, the level of unionization and collective bargaining, the pension system, and the right to collective bargaining.
On behalf of the Hunan delegation, Luo Qiong provided information about Hunan Province. He stated that in the province, which has a population of over 70 million, more than 11 million workers are employed, and the majority of them are organized in unions.
Luo Qiong explained the level of unionization in Hunan Province, issues that can be resolved through collective bargaining, the functioning of pension and health insurance, and the changes brought about by technological development, especially in the textile sector. He also mentioned that efforts are being made to find solutions by transferring the underutilized workforce, created by technological changes, to different sectors.
At the end of the meeting, Luo Qiong presented a plaque to our President Doğan as a memento of the visit.
