Workers working at the Denim Fabric Shop located in Muratlı, Kırklareli, started to become members of our union by using their rights arising from the Constitution and laws.
Having learned that the workers were union members, employers and business managers began to pressure workers to resign from the union as of the morning of 12 July.
He dismissed the Özdemir couple, who were members of our union, in order to intimidate other workers. Before the holiday, it darkened the life of a family.
Managers roaming sections of the workplace forced workers to resign from the union.
Two of our dismissed members and the members of the General Board of our union started a “rights watch” in front of the workplace. DİSK Board Member and Gıda-İş Chairman Seyit Aslan visited our members on this incident and stated that they would support the struggle.
On the second day of the watch, the managers and representatives of the DİSK and KESK member unions, especially Birlete Metal-İş, and the members of the Lüleburgaz Labor and Democracy Platform made visits to support the vigil.
Our demands are clear;
1) Our dismissed members should return to their jobs without delay.
2) The rights of workers to join a union and collective bargaining should be respected, and the pressures should be stopped immediately.
In line with these demands, our union will continue to use all the rights and tools most effectively provided by the laws, ILO conventions and global framework agreements signed by IndustriALL Global Union, of which we are a member, with global brands.
